Album recording

On June 3&4 the Ella Zirina Trio went into Studio 150 Bethlehemkerk to record an album with the help of the sound engineer Joeri Saal.

Besides the compositions written for trio, the saxophonist Tineke Postma joined for couple of tunes to enrich the trio sound and bring another character to these tunes. Another addition was the string quartet which features Wouter Torringa (violin), Noah Hassler (violin), Ida Weidner (viola) and Joshua Herwig (cello). Ella composed and arranged three pieces for the upcoming album featuring the string quartet.

The album will feature mostly originals by Ella as well as her arrangements of beloved Jazz and popular tunes. This project is kindly supported by Fonds Podiumkunsten (Performing Arts Fund NL) and BIMHUIS.
